This is an interactive workshop and professional development opportunity that explores themes of inclusion, diversity, and social justice through Applied Theatre. The workshop is presented by a team of Fusion Theatre actors who have disabilities, and who bring their unique understandings of disability and high level of experience in drama and theatre to the workshop. Through Applied Theatre, drama, and stories, social work students will be provided with opportunities to reflect on how they might identify barriers to inclusion and contribute to a more inclusive society.

Applied theatre is for everyone because it utilises people’s life stories and self-reflective abilities, not technical acting skills, to collaboratively produce a piece of performance that encourages inclusive conversations and generates meaningful connections.

The workshop will run from 11-1 and lunch will be provided at 1, where you’ll have the opportunity to connect with the Fusion Theatre actors as well as your peers. The workshop will be located in room G01, Building 189 (Frank Tate), Parkville campus. Map available here: https://maps.unimelb.edu.au/parkville/building/189
